Introduction: Happiness is one of human personality features which can assist with overcoming the stresses and pressures of life. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the levels of happiness amongst general practice trainers of Yazd Shahid Sadoughi university of medical sciences.
Methods: This descriptive study was conducted on 210 medical students who were selected through simple random sampling. The data were collected using Oxford Happiness questionnaire containing 5 measures of study variables as: life satisfaction, self-esteem, subjective well-being, self-satisfaction and positive mood.
Results: The happiness level over all these 5 items was 52.240±9.353 which the highest score belonged to positive mood and the lowest one was observed in subjective well-being. Regarding the overall happiness, no one was able to obtain the excellent score. As a matter of fact, generally, 68.8% of the students demonstrated a good score.
Conclusion: The study findings demonstrated that happiness was reported in a good level within the most externs. Moreover, other studies can be conducted investigating causes of happiness in order to facilitate the development of happiness.
