Introduction: Musculoskeletal disorders are among the leading causes of pain, disability, and reduced quality of life worldwide, imposing a substantial burden on individuals, healthcare systems, and society. In recent decades, advances in rehabilitation science and the growing adoption of evidence-based practice have shifted the focus of rehabilitation from merely alleviating symptoms to restoring function, enhancing participation, improving quality of life, and promoting patient independence. Within this framework, exercise and structured physical activity have emerged as safe, effective, and cost-efficient non-pharmacological interventions for the prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders. Scientific evidence demonstrates that appropriately prescribed exercise programs improve neuromuscular function, muscle strength, endurance, flexibility, motor control, and functional performance while reducing pain and minimizing the risk of recurrence. In addition to their physical benefits, regular exercise contributes significantly to mental well-being by reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression and enhancing self-efficacy. Despite considerable progress in exercise therapy and rehabilitation, further high-quality research, innovative interventions, and interdisciplinary collaboration remain essential to optimize patient outcomes and facilitate the translation of evidence into clinical practice. This editorial highlights the pivotal role of exercise in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders and emphasizes the importance of evidence-based approaches in advancing rehabilitation services and improving patients' quality of life.
