Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics:
Patients have the right to privacy and this right should not be infringed without their informed consent. All of the information about the patients that may lead to identifying them should be excluded, such as their names, the No. of their beds etc. Informed consent forms must be obtained from the patients. All of the epidemiological studies or clinical trials have been approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the university. Clinical trials should be registered in the Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials for the IRCT registration number or any international registration center approved by the World Health Organization. In the case of articles that are the result of an epidemiological study or a clinical trial, a copy or a scanned file of the Ethics Committee's agreement in the Institute's related research will also be submitted with the article.

Conflict of interest:
 For authors: Conflict of interest information should be declared at the end of the article. Conflict of interest refers to the presence of any financial or non-financial support that may influence on the authors' opinion.
    For referees: If the referee feels that the article under review is in conflict with one of his published or publishing articles, he should immediately return the article to the journal and inform the journal of the conditions of conflict of interests or possible exploitation.
    For the editor: The articles sent to the journal are reviewed by the editor without taking into account the race, religion, nationality, gender, position or organizational affiliation of the authors and based on the competence of the articles.

Journal of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences will carefully review all the above cases and if any violation is found, it will take the following measures:
  •  If the submitted manuscript is suspected of plagiarism, it will be rejected in whole or in part, and if plagiarism is determined after publication, the journal will follow cope instructions in the field of withdrawal, and correction;
  • After consulting the respective Editorial Board Members, authors guilty of plagiarism will be debarred from publishing their papers in Journal of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences for at least 2 years.
  • Heads of the Departments/Institutes of the offending authors will be intimated of such incidences of plagiarism.
  • In case of confirmation of plagiarism on an already published article, the Editor will be obliged to withdraw the article from the journal website.
 

Human and animal rights:

Research involving human subjects, human material, or human data, should include a statement that the studies performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and approved by an appropriate ethics committee. If a study has been granted an exemption from requiring ethics approval, this should also be detailed in the manuscript (including the name of the ethics committee that granted the exemption). Authors will be expected to have obtained ethics committee approval and informed patient consent for any experimental use of a novel procedure or tool where a clear clinical advantage based on clinical need was not apparent before treatment.


Data sharing:

The Journal of Shahid Sadoughi universiy of Medical Sciences of Yazd encourages authors to share their research data (raw data, processed data, software, algorithms, protocols, methods, materials) if the issues related to privacy and security is not violated. if the authors have archived and shared data or other artefacts supporting the results in the artice in public repositories, it is necessary to provide the data accessibility statement to the journal so that this statement is published alongside their paper.

the data accessibility statement includes the name of the repository used, and the unique indentifier (Digital Objecr Identifier or Reference Number), link to the repository used (Unique Locator of the Resource) and any instructions for accessing the data, if applicable.


Archiving Policy:
The journal is now archiving its articles electronically via repositories of Eprints, and Google Scholar.
